MaxCDN EdgeRules allow for setting a priority for multiple rules acting on the same URI. This allows one to set up a chain of rules to act on requests as they come in for the specified URI. This article aims to clarify some of the caveats inherent in using EdgeRule Priority.
The EdgeRules feature is available only on Enterprise plans.
Priority Explained
Priority is very important if the request URI matches multiple regular expression rules. Use priority to determine which rule is applied.
Rules run in order of priority, so there are two key things to keep in mind when creating and prioritizing your rules:
- The lower the number the higher the priority
- Rule priority only applies if the match type is regular expression.
